adidas. and scotchgard.
So. It would appear that I am a very lazy blogger. When in fact, instead of listing a random paragraph of nonsense that will mean nothing to anyone who reads it, I have been out and about living a rather busy life (by my standards) so that I have something interesting for all of my non-existent readers.
This post will be divided into four parts and posted seperately because I believe, that stories are better when they have chapters, or at least, are very short.
I will begin with an update on the working world. I have finished recruiting for my (can’t list the brand) Journals assignment (25 kids from 13 markets.) Turns out I had to speak with about 200 people to get the ones we wanted, but we have them now and pretty soon they will be bound to me by contract, so I can spy on their lifecycle and entertainment choices for a month, complete with pictures. I present my initial findings to client tomorrow.
I have also been scouting the Chicago area in search of the most “retro-forward” places to take our clients on a tour of the city to learn about the demo we are currently targeting. After all it is important for them to know about who they are selling to. This has been a relatively tedious process because many stores claim to have a “retro” mindset when in fact, the merely sell old things. The idea of style seems to be lost on many, and the word psychographic. . well don’t use it in common language. The difficult decision remains to be made as to if it is more important to represent a style or a mindset, because many “boutique” style stores are way out of these kids price range.
Oh, yes, you will all be receiving your link to a survey monkey report shortly, that will help me discover how to better market to college kids like you.
Enjoi.
